Focus on Future Leaders, Inc. is a non-profit charitable community organization created and developed initially to increase awareness of the need for diverse leaders while providing modernized and updated leadership programs with the purpose of enhancing and developing leadership skills primarily among African Americans. Incorporated on October 25, 2002, Focus on Future Leaders, Inc. developed a program offering valuable informational and technical resources in an effort to prepare each participant with the skills and knowledge needed for becoming more successful and productive in the community. The Inaugural Board of Directors consisted of Eric Davis, President; Arlena Hawthorne, Vice President; Kimberly Dawson Munn, treasurer; Anthony R. Foxx, Parliamentarian; brenda B. McMoore, Program Chair; Cheryl Mayfield brown, Banquet Chair; brandi N. Williams, Public Relations Chair; and Ronnie Devine, Recruitment Chair. Ron Leeper, President and Founder of R.J. Leeper Construction, along with Ms. Angela Jeter, Director of Continuing Education at Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte City Councilman James Mitchell, and IBM Executive Kevin Patterson formed what is known as the FOFL Advisory Board.
 To involve participants in diverse opportunities using proactive strategies to address issues impacting the African American community.
 To prepare African Americans to contribute to the growth and development of the Charlotte Metropolitan area.

The goal of Focus On Future Leaders Inc. is to successfully develop a first class leadership program primarily for African Americans, providing them with the necessary tools to become active leaders in the Charlotte Metropolitan community through community involvement.
